Florentine watchmaker Panerai has supplied precision instruments to the Royal Italian Navy, which over time has also inspired the brand's passion for historic ships. The Eilean is a historic sailboat, designed and built by shipbuilder William Fife, and restored to its original state with the support of Panerai. In fact, Panerai produced the earliest prototype Radiomir watches shortly after the sailing ship Eilean was completed in 1936.
The new Panerai Radiomir Eilean Experience Edition Watch PAM01244(Replica Panerai Radiomir), the watch is made of antique stainless steel and bronze, with a diameter of 45 mm. The shape of the case is inspired by the original Radiomir of the 1930s, but with a flatter profile. The bezel, crown and caseback are made of bronze, the same material used in the restoration of the Eilean. The side of the case is decorated with the dragon's head pattern usually found on the bow, while the case back is engraved with the words "Eilean 1936". The watch comes with a dark brown calfskin strap with stitching inspired by nautical knots.
The dial features the iconic "sandwich" structure and is decorated in blue with a delicate texture reminiscent of the teak deck of a sailboat. The hour hand adopts a partition design, just like the original. Despite the choice of Super-LumiNova rather than Radiomir as the fluorescent material, the beige numerals and indexes still glow green as they did a century ago.Replica Panerai Watches
